New Delhi, Oct 2 (PTI) The BCCI is likely to challenge the Central Information Commission’s ruling that the cricket board be brought under the RTI act with a top official accusing the Committee of Administrators (COA) of “wilful negligence” in dealing with the matter. The CIC verdict would effectively mean that the BCCI become a National Sports Federation (NSF). The BCCI, which has resented coming under the Right to Information (RTI) act claiming to be an autonomous entity, feels the COA is to be blamed for the setback which hit the Board on Monday evening....

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals were on Tuesday suspended from the IPL for two years by the Supreme Court-appointed Justice Lodha Committee in the scandal that rocked the cash-rich Twenty20 tournament in 2013. Former CSK team official Gurunath Meiyappan and Royals co-owner Raj Kundra, both of whom were earlier found guilty of betting, were suspended for life from any cricketing activity. “It is for the BCCI to consider terminating the teams and the Supreme Court judgment is clear on that....

Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton told the Waco Tribune-Herald that an officer stopped Rhodes about 4 a.m. Friday for changing lanes without a signal on Spur 2 on the edge of downtown. Swanton said the officer smelled marijuana when he approached the driver's side window and found almost 6 grams of marijuana in a plastic bag under the front seat. Swanton said the tampering charge arose from Rhodes trying to hide the drugs....

Following public confessions of attempting to alter the condition of the ball by Smith and Cameron Bancroft, the first sanction arrived from the ICC in this regard, which ruled Smith out of the fourth Test at Johannesburg and docked his entire match fee.
