The CCN-IBN report went on to say that the meeting was called off after members revolted against Srinivasan, and as a result, to avoid confrontation, Srinivasan called off the meeting. Members said that it would be “contempt of court” if Srinivasan had chaired the Working Committee.
Amid the confusion, the BCCI has now postponed the meeting. No new date for the next Working Committee meeting has been announced yet.
Reports say that Srinivasan wanted to attend the IPL Governing Council meeting, but the Working Committee members ganged up against him.
As the BCCI president, Srinivasan has the right to attend the meeting but was not allowed, citing the conflict of interest. Moreover, IPL probe panel report was not endorsed by the IPL Governing Council.
Meanwhile, Dalmiya seems likely to continue as interim president of BBCI.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss findings of the two-member internal probe team, consisting of former judges T Jayaram Chouta and R Balasubramanian, who submitted their report to the BCCI, which Bombay High Court subsequently deemed illegal.
