It has also come to light that Cricket South Africa, Cricket Sri Lanka, and New Zealand Cricket were paid Rs. 4.22 cr, 1.63 cr, and Rs. 1.16 cr respectively for releasing their players for the Indian Premier League (IPL). Some of the biggest superstars in the T20 league are from the three countries, which include the likes of AB de Villiers and Lasith Malinga.

The IPL also features cricketers from Australia, England, West Indies and Bangladesh – and the boards of those countries are also expected to receive a fee for releasing their players.

Former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid was paid 50% of his professional fees, i.e Rs. 1.3 cr, for his work as the coach of India U19 and the Indian A team. Earlier this year, under the guidance of Dravid, the Indian U19 team had reached the final of the ICC U19 World Cup.

The BCCI spent Rs 1.7 cr on spidercams during the recently concluded ICC World T20. Despite facing some criticism from players, spidercams have become a regular feature of cricket matches in the recent past.

The Indian cricket board also made advance payments to three IPL franchises – Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils – for the 2016 IPL season. KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited (Kings XI Punjab) were paid Rs. 21.9 cr while Indiawin Sports Private Limited (Mumbai Indians) and GMR Sports Private Limited (Delhi Daredevils) were paid Rs. 22.9 cr each.
