To celebrate that time, Platinum Games has announced the release of a 10th Anniversary Bundle including HD Remasters of two of the company’s flagship games. The two games in question are the fan favorite fantasy-action title Bayonetta and the relatively less popular, but still critically acclaimed, Sci-Fi shooter Vanquish.

In a leak earlier this month Bayonetta and Vanquish were rumored to have been getting an HD Remaster set to release on PS4 and Xbox One. This rumor has now been confirmed by a trailer released by Sega, the publisher for Platinum’s early titles, revealing the release date at the same time. Both games will be releasing in a single 10th Anniversary Bundle on February 18th, 2020 for both the PS4 and the Xbox One.
These choices in games are little surprise to celebrate the 10th Anniversary for anyone who has played them in the 10 years they have been out, but there are a couple of other games that could have fit the bill as well. While it would have been very odd for Platinum or Sega to put any effort into remastering Infinite Space, the Wii exclusive MadWorld is the first release developed by Platinum Games. However, with such an incredible catalog of titles, Platinum Games had plenty of choices that it could have made, and clearly the two titles in the bundle are ones that the company is the most proud to have its name on.
Whatever the reasons were for Bayonetta and Vanquish to be chosen for the 10th Anniversary Bundle, these titles and their sequels are easily some of the best games that Platinum has made. Although Vanquish never did get a sequel like Bayonetta did, if this new bundle does well, it may prompt Platinum Games to re-approach its old IP once again. Either way, fans of the company’s fast-paced, high-action style will fortunately be able to play the original games again on modern consoles, with another Bayonetta title coming in the future as well.
