What is Naive Angel Mode in Bayonetta 3?
Naive Angel mode allows players to keep Bayonetta modest during her adventures and escapades to avoid further Bayonetta 3 controversies. In other words, the mode disables nudity scenes while activating Demon Slave in Bayonetta 3. This mode allows players to play the game without suggestive elements that make them or those around them uncomfortable.
Once Naive Angel mode is enabled, an excessive show of skin by Bayonetta and other playable characters is dealt with by covering them with clothing. The Naive Angel mode covers story cutscenes or any other instance where the character being controlled appears almost nude. The mode also changes the color of blood to tone down the gore for those who find it unbearable.
How to Enable Naive Angel Mode in Bayonetta 3
Since Naive Angel mode is disabled by default, players must enable it before starting a new game. Players who want to enable Naive Angel mode must do so from the main menu. It is worth noting the mode can’t be enabled at just any time during gameplay.
Naive Angel mode can be enabled or disabled from the Options screen and then tabbing over to Screen Display – players can head there from the main menu or the chapter menu. This means the mode can only be activated when it is first started or between chapters. Quickly switching the mode on and off might be on the cards for a later Bayonetta 3 update, but not at this time.
Nintendo has released censored versions of games in North America, which includes modifying risqué dialogue and character visuals in games like Xenoblade Chronicles X, Fire Emblem, and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. For this reason, there were rumors that PlatinumGames was required to make similar concessions to broaden Bayonetta 3’s appeal. Surprisingly, Nintendo never requested for the franchise to be toned down in terms of its suggestive elements and gore, as stated by Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya.
Bayonetta 3 is available on Nintendo Switch.
